Five signs your website is quietly costing you sales
None of these show up in your traffic numbers, which is exactly why they go unnoticed for years.
Most underperforming websites are not obviously broken. They load, they look reasonable, and the traffic report looks healthy. The losses happen in places analytics does not flag.
1. It takes more than three seconds on mobile data
Test it on a phone on mobile data, not on office wifi. Most visitors will never see a page that takes longer, and they do not appear in your bounce rate as a problem you can name.
2. The price is not on the page
Hiding the price to force an enquiry filters out far more buyers than it captures. People assume the worst and leave without ever contacting you.
3. There is no obvious next step
Every page should make one action obvious. If a visitor has to work out what to do next, most will decide to do it later, which usually means never.
4. The contact form is the only way in
Some people will not fill in a form under any circumstances. Give them a phone number, a WhatsApp link and an email address, and let them choose.
5. Nobody has looked at it in a year
Stale prices, last year's opening hours and an event that has already happened all tell a visitor the same thing: this business may not be paying attention. That impression is expensive and entirely avoidable.
